Tonight Alive - This band are going to be so big!
***1/2
This band are going to be so big, check them out in a small venue while you still can!
Tonight Alive ***1/2 are getting really popular and I witnessed them on the Kerrang tour with Black Veil Brides, Chiodos and Fearless Vampire Killers earlier in the year. At these show the band played this amazing heart felt track called 'Amelia' which is sadly missing from today's set which is a real shame because it's so nice to hear it.
Opening with the popular song 'Listening' they start out how they mean to go on with a slice of Pop Punk / Emo songs that are really nice to listen to. You always get such great female singers from Australia like Kylie and Jenna McDougall is definitely one of thou's loveable girls next door. She could have graced Ramsey Street in Neighbours herself if she wanted to and she wouldn't be out of place. She has great use of the stage while bass player Cam Adler just rocks back and forth while guitarist Jake Hardy shows you he can produce steady Pop rhythms.
'Thank you and Goodnight' another great song off their amazing album 'What are you so scared Of' also they play later on in their set has hints of old Pop Punk like early New found Glory, Blink 182 or even shamefully Busted but holds up on it's own. You can also see a few feet start moving and jumping up and down before they are treated to 'Breakdown, Wasting Away' and 'Starlight'. 'Starlight' a track that is really catchy and has some great lyrics to it.
The band that have played with the likes of All time Low, Anberlin and SImple Plan really hold their own at the Slam Dunk Festival and even though it's not one of their best sets you already get an idea what they are all about, so when they end with 'Breaking and Entering' you think you will go and check out more about them and maybe even see them again.
