Get ready to recieve your Treatment

The Treatment **** are a band I first saw back when they first started way back in 2008 when they had Matt Jones as their singer, I always liked them but thought there was something missing. With singer Tom Rampton they have found that something, even though I read he has been with the band since 2017. But I have to say I have not seen them live for a very longtime, and with Covid-19 lockdowns and being hit by a car... it kind of taken away three years of my life to see live gigs. So this is probably the reason for this, but I have to say I was really impressed.

When the worst thing in the bands set is the intro, then you have a band going in the right direction. Yes! I like AC/DC and Yes! I like 'Highway to Hell' but I think now it's just a bit of a cliche to have it playing before a Classic Rock / Blues band comes to the stage. What I like most about The Treatment, is their stage presence which is electrifying... they are a band that really know how to use the stage. Also the connection the band have on stage is second to none, they all know which other is going to do at every moment during the performance. And they have really great musicianship, and nice songs that get stuck in your head. I think for me though is that every song is great, but they have not hit the anthems which bands like Aerosmith / AC/DC / Bon Jovi and others have.

And they are a band that has been going for quite a while now, so they really should have. I talked to a few friends at the show, and they also said this was their problem with the band as well. They said they are  really amazing live act, and the shows are really enjoyable. But they didn't really listen to them at home, and if someone asked them to name one of their tracks... they just couldn't do it. And I think this is a real shame, because I was shocked in how much they have moved forward from when I had last seen them. Songs like 'Wrong Way' and 'Rat Race' do have their merit, and single 'Let it Begin' is a real highlight. Which make you think that maybe the bands next album, will be their finest moment. I really do hope so, because I want to see The Treatment headlining big venues and high on the bill at festivals in the future.

I think another problem I have is the connection because of the changes with singers, the fact I know certain songs with certain singers. They sound different live now, take as example 'Shake the Mountain'... which has a new vocal style to it. Don't get me wrong I like it, it's just a little different. If you like Blues, Classic Rock and American style Rock, you really can't go wrong with the new incarnation of The Treatment as a live act. Because they really do put on an impressive show, I know I was impressed... and will be keeping a lot closer eye on them in the future. And I think you will be hearing much... much more from The Treatment, I really do think they are a band that have now got their mojo.
