Truck Festival - Announce headliners and first acts!!!
The first and headline acts have been announced for this years Truck Festival!
The Cribs and White Lies are all set to headline at Truck Festival 2014 which takes place on 18th and 19th of July and is as always at Hill Farm, Steventon near Oxford. Not only because The Cribs are returning, having first played at Truck ten years ago, but with a record number of early birds sold this year's Truck Festival is going to be one for the annuals.
Please find the beginnings of our most impressive line-up to date:
White Lies (Headliner) / The Cribs (Headliner) / Peace / Stornoway / Andrew W.K. (Solo) / Los Campesinos! / Kids in glass Houses / Swim Deep / Cerebral Ballzy / Itch / Eliza and the Bear / Lonely the Brave / Darlia / Circa Waves / Flyte / Nothing but Thieves / Nordic Giants / Black Moth
Music Trespass recommends the following artists:
White Lies are an English Post-Punk band from Earling, London whose first three albums have taken the music scene by storm and seen them playing on the main stage of the Reading festival. Sounding like a cross between the Editors and Joy Division with Electronic parts they really have a great sound and singles like 'Death, Unfinished Business, Bigger than Us, Strangers, Holy Ghost, There goes our Love' and 'First time Caller' have all left an impression on the airwaves. White Lies have hard shoes to fill after spectacular headline sets by Spiritualized and The Horrors last year, so what will they do to impress.

The Cribs are a cult three piece Indie Rock band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire and are the brain child of Gary and Ryan Jarman and were originally joined by Ex-The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr who got them major publicity but now have their other brother Ross Jarman in the band to make The Cribs very much a family affair. They have now gone from the underground and have become a house hold name with Ryan Jarman appearing on game shows like 'Never mind the Buzzcocks' and hanging out with acts like The Libertines. The Cribs are known for their great chaotic live performances so I reckon they will bring something new to the Truck festival and are the kind of band that will go down well at the festivals, The Subways did last year so I really think their is a place for The Cribs.

Peace were one of the most talked about bands from 2013 and they fit into the Truck line-up perfectly. Coming out of Worcester and being compared by The Guardian and NME to The Maccabees, Foals, Wu Lyf and Vampire Weekend. This band mix up Indie and Psychedelic Rock in the right way to make a good impression. Peace with Toy have really impressed with how they can mix up and old sound with new ideals which makes them ones to watch at the 2014 Truck festival.

Andrew W.K. is playing a solo set at this years Truck, which is going to be very interesting indeed. He first hit the scene with his killer anthem 'Party Hard' which can be heard at every Rock club around the World on a Friday night. He also had hits with 'She is Beautiful' and 'Party to you Puke', but since then has diversed into piano albums and work out video's and is always up to something interesting and can get a crowd going like nobody else. If you miss this act you will regret it because he will be the best of the weekend.

Kids in glass Houses are an Emo band from Wales who emerged from the scene with the likes of the Lostprophets and The Blackout and have headlined festivals and been played on all the radio stations so are ones not to miss. You will realise you know more songs by this act than you think you do, and they are all very catchy and their live show has grown over the years into a well polished performance.

Itch (AKA Johnny Fox) was the singer of the band The King Blues who mixed up some many genres from Reggae to Hip Hop, Folk, Doo Wop and Punk Rock. Itch is probably the act on the bill that has the most to offer musically, because of how many genres he can put his hand to. You might not always like what he is doing because of the fact sometimes it goes into a genre your not really into but you have to admit he is well worth giving a chance to. That is why he is one of our picks for this years festival.
