Ultrasound - Are back in 2013 with a flying saucer landing!
***
Back in Oxfordshire for the first time in years!
Ultrasound *** (Truck Stage) are a band I remember from when I was a kid, they used to play at the Oxford Zodiac and I even owned a few of their records. They released a single last year called 'Beautiful Sadness' which was very good but kind of missed a lot of peoples ears, I think the bands absence had just been too long for a lot of interest to be still around.
Their big hit 'So Young' was a great Pop song and I still can remember it years after it's release which is the sign of a great song. Half way through the bands set the organisers of Truck bring out a crashed UFO with dead aliens smoke and everything which is really cool and brings and extra edge to the bands set. Sometimes in the set I got a little bored and it wasn't cause the music is not good their was just not enough to look at and the bands stage presence was a little one dimensional.
This can't of been a bad set because it made me want to listen to my old Ultrasound records but maybe that was just to bring back some good memories of good times. They were in Oxford at the right time when the scene was massive with the emergence of bands like Radiohead, Supergrass and The Candyskins.
