Visigoth - Talk to Music Trespass ahead of their new album release!

Metal Blade's Visigoth talk to Joe!!!

Ahead of the release of their debut full length album being released on Metal Blade Joe Denby has a quick chat with Visigoth guitarist Jamison Palmer to talk about their album.

Music Trespass: How are you today?

Jamison: I'm doing well, ready to Rock.

Music Trespass: Visigoth is a fairly new band; you are now in your fifth year. Tell us a bit about the history of the band.

Jamison: I've known Jake Rodgers (Vocals) and Lee Compana (Guitar) for a long time. I and Lee have known each other since high school. We had been guitar together for ten years in Lee's band. They wanted to take it as far as it could go and they wanted me to get involved. They had already recorded the first demo at that point. We then found our Matt Brotherton (Bass) and our Mikey .T's been the same line up ever since.

Music Trespass: You’ve now signed to Metal Blade and your debut full length is about to drop, “The Revenant King”. Tell us about the album.

Jamison: It's a combination of new songs and songs that have been in our live set up to this point during the last four years.

Music Trespass: How would you describe yourself to people that have not heard you?

Jamison: We play traditional, classic Heavy Metal's how we describe ourselves to people. Judas Priest that kind of stuff. We all listen to Thrash, Death Metal, Black Metal and all sorts of stuff and certain things trickle through but we keep it classic and timeless.

Music Trespass: What else do you have planned for 2015?

Jamison: We will be doing a west coast American to start with that and then hopefully stay on the road as much as we can.

Music Trespass: Tell us about the artwork for the album.

Jamison: That was by Chris Verwimp, he has worked for a number of artists. He does amazing oil paintings and what he did was perfect for the album.

Music Trespass: I bet it will look great on Vinyl.

Jamison: Can't wait to see that.

Music Trespass: Your top five albums?

Jamison: 'Defenders of the Faith' Judas Priest, 'Seventh son of a seventh Son' Iron Maiden. 'Rising' Rainbow, 'Storm of the Light’s Bane' Dissection and 'Fire of the unknown Origin' Blue oyster Cult.

Iron Maiden (Pictured Above)

Music Trespass: Iron Maiden or Judas Priest?

Jamison: Your making me choose!? Man you are kidding! Oh man I’d go with Iron Maiden because they have blown me away the last couple of times I’ve seen them. I mean Judas Priest has still got it but Iron Maiden just brings something special every time.

Music Trespass: Best Iron Maiden album?

Jamison: I’ve loved 'Somewhere in Time' for a number of years but their first seven albums is faultless to me.
