Noisey merchants bring their heavy show to Vans!

Vans Warped Tour
While she Sleeps ***1/2 (West Stage)
are getting more brutal by the day and even more pounding, giving 'The North stands for Nothing' a more intense feel to it. Lawrence "Loz" Taylor screams out every word of this song violently and you wonder why so many girls like a band that are so heavy. This band is also doing really well over seas, flying the British flag with pride as they play over their and gradually joining the likes of Bring me the Horizon as our best exports.

The open with the title track off their last record released in 2013 'This is the Six', this speedy number that drags their set into motion. This song is furious and is not for the faint hearted, it's in your face like a mask that is stinging and drags you out of your sleepy state to pay attention to their set. New song 'Death Toll' is equally heavy and mad and brings on some serious mosh pit action and a few heart attacks in the audience from people going  a little too crazy. This song also has an anthem Esq. quality to it that sounds similar to the recent work of Bring me the Horizon but even heavier.

'The North stands for Nothing' brings us back to the beginning of the band, while 'Our Courage, Our Cancer' starts off slow and builds up with synchronized riffs. 'Dead behind the Eyes' which opened up their last album is already gaining creditability as a great live track and this see the band twisting guitars and thrashing them like crazy.

'Crows' for me is the best track today showing their older material is the best the band has produced, this does sound a little heavier than I would like today and less like the Hardcore track it originally was but is still good. They end the set with 'Seven Hills' which has nice harmonics in the riffs and breaks the set to a end slowly but with killer screams and great dynamics. Like Memphis May Fire and Parkway Drive, While she Sleeps appeals to the crowd that likes it's music a little heavier than most of the bands on the bill and they do a good job of gripping people in. So if you like your music heavy then check out While she Sleeps they on the tip of all the happening bands in the UK.
