The Xcerts - Shaking in the Water
*****
The Next big Indie Rock band has just been reborn!
'Shaking in the Water' is the new single by the Scottish band The Xcerts and see's the band go back to the Idlewild esq. sound that made me fall in love with them the first time I ever saw them live. I was so disappointed in the direction the band went after the first couple of times I saw them live, I just thought it was a little bit boring and didn't have the impact of early songs like 'Crisis in the slow Lane' which was a brilliant piece of Indie Rock genius. 'Shaking in the Water' has the same feel to it and really amazing twists and turns and even reminds me of the underrated Grunge act Llama Farmers which were around in the 90's.
I think the band really did the right thing getting Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild) in to produce it because you can see he was well worth the money because as the press release said The Xcerts are returning with a "Remarkable returning Statement!!!". I think if they come up with more songs like this, they will be headlining festivals in a few years. Singer / Guitarist Murray MacLeod vocals sound better than ever and the music is so well put together, so this is a song that surely can't miss. So go and buy this single because you will be playing it over and over again. It's that could if I had it on 7 inch I am sure I would wear it out!!!
‘Shaking in the Water’ will be released through Raygun Records on July 21st!!!
