Howard Jones - Returns to Absolute Radio 80's !!!

80's star Howard Jones will once again take to the airwaves on Absolute 80's, the number one all digital commercial radio station in the UK.

The new radio series dovetails his 30th Anniversary concerts at London’s o2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire (Nov 29) and Birmingham o2 Academy (Nov 30).

From 6pm - 7pm every Sunday night for eight consecutive weeks from Sunday 1st September, Jones will offer a weekly free downloadable mp3 track, recently recorded at a live and exclusive session at Absolute Radio’s studios. Each original track, including re-interpretations of the hits, as well as new material, will be accompanied by video stream performances for listeners to view and share with their friends.

Listeners will be directed to an online form at www.absolute80s.com where they will receive a confirmation email and link to download the exclusive mp3 each week. The videos will be hosted in a special Howard Jones YouTube Playlist via Absolute Radio’s official channel with links from the Absolute 80's Facebook and Twitter pages.

Jones first joined Absolute 80's back in 2011, where he anchored ‘Howard Jones Electronic 80s’, a music led programme filled with Howard’s favourite electronic music from the era where he made his name. It was in 1983 that Howard Jones first burst upon the contemporary music scene with his very English song writing and pioneering synthesizers. He took the mid to late eighties by storm with his high energy gigs and albums‘Human’s Lib’ and ‘Dream into Action’.

A host of 80's stars will join Howard Jones on the roster at Absolute 80's in the coming months including Owen Paul, who hosts a two show special appropriately titled ‘My favourite waste of Time’, while Kim Wilde, B52’s and Deacon Blue will also be heard in feature interviews. The stars follow in the footsteps of 80's icons Tony Hadley, Nik Kershaw and Carol Decker who enjoy regular slots at the station. The brand continues to shine and raise awareness for Absolute Radio’s wider decade strategy which includes dedicated digital stations from the 60's to the 00's.
