Metallica - Go into the 'Guinness book of World Records'!!!
Metallica have just got a World record!!!
Metallica have just been added to the 'Guinness book of World Records' for being the first and only band to play seven continents in one year. In addition to performing live in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, the year was capped off with a visit to Antarctica to play for one hundred and twenty scientists, contest winners and their penguin friends at the Argentine Carlini Station. Metallica are currently part of the Mill Valley Film Festival in Marin County as artists in tesidence. Each band member will be hosting a different film.
The Metallica fun kicks off on October 3rd with Kirk, a noted Horror movie aficionado, presenting the schlock filled, Z-movie late-night screening of the 1971 favorite 'Dracula vs. Frankenstein'. Robert co-produced his film 'Jaco' a documentary that brings the story of legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius to the screen on October 6th. Lars’ choice is the unreleased 'Whiplash' an indie feature about an aspiring drummer and his ruthless teacher that won multiple awards at Sundance this year screening on October 7th, finishing up with James’ classic pick 'The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly' shown in all its restored big screen glory on October 8th.
