Bellowhead back under the bright lights on tour!
‘Let her Run / I want to see the bright lights Tonight’ is the new double A side single from Britain’s most successful ever traditional folk act, Bellowhead. Ten years old this year, Bellowhead released their new album ‘Revival’ on legendary label Island Records earlier this summer. Entering the charts at No.12, ‘Revival’ was the band’s highest album chart position to date.
‘Let her Run’ is a raucous song with its pounding drums and upbeat horns and is a reworked adaptation from the hauling shanty 'Let the bulgine Run, I want to see the bright lights Tonight’ is a cover of the Richard and Linda Thompson classic which was itself released on Island in 1974.
"I’d done half an arrangement anyway, then we’re sitting in the Island boardroom and there is a reproduction of the Bright Lights single cover on the wall and it just felt like the perfect choice’. This November, they hit the road again." - Jon Boden (Bellowhead)
