Sharon Corr - Will do her only UK solo show at the Isle of Wight festival...
Sharon Corr showcases herself as a solo artist!
Sharon Corr’s performance on Friday June 12th will be the Irish musician’s only UK solo performance this year. The set in the Big Top will bring to a close Sharon’s 'The Same Sun' World tour which started in Brazil in 2013. Having performed her first gig as a solo artist at the Isle of Wight festival in 2009 about which she later said “I had total palpitations. But once I was up there… I came alive. I felt totally and utterly myself’. Sharon has now released two solo albums 2010’s ‘Dream of You’ and ‘The Same Sun’ in 2014.
Since her 2009 debut solo performance Sharon has toured extensively throughout North and South America, Australia and Europe... including a return to the Isle of Wight festival in 2011. This Friday the Grammy nominee / Brit award winning, singer-songwriter / violinist and member of legendary Irish group The Corrs, Sharon will be performing new songs from ‘The Same Sun’ as well as a selection from her back catalogue.
During The Corrs’ fifteen year career, their mellifluous, galvanic blend of Celtic Rock / Oop saw the Dundalk band sell a staggering fourty five million albums. They toured arenas and stadia across the globe, unleashed a string of hugely successful singles including 'What can I Do?, Runaway, So Young, Radio' and 'Breathless'.
