Prong - X - No Absolutes

Prong’s winning streak continues
There has never been a better time to be a Prong fan, 2012 saw them release one of their best ever albums and since then we have had nearly a release a year. 2014 saw a live album and the excellent 'Ruining Lives' while last year saw the band release 'Songs from the black Hole' one of Metal’s better cover albums and before we are even through January 2016 we have yet another album!.
Keeping his live rhythm section Jason Christopher and Arturo Cruz, the chemistry this line up has is electrifying. Now, what do I say about Prong that I haven’t already said? They still manage to mix the perfect blend of riff’s, hooks, heaviness and melody while coating everything in a dark, bleak atmosphere. Tommy Victor is still one of the most under rated song writers and he should be a hell of more wealthy! 'Without Words' showcases Prong at their peak, the title track also with it's Industrial leanings. 'Do nothing' is just beautiful and crushingly heavy both sonically and emotionally.
I’m not sure I like this album as much as 'Carved into Stone' but it is better than 'Ruining Lives' but this and those two albums stand up against the bands golden period and keep in mind the album is still fresh and it’s not fully sunk in. It’s just over half hour of Prong firing from all cylinders. What else do you need to know? Tommy Victor is the bollocks and Prong are awesome. They don’t do bad albums, everyone is worth buying. Prong sound like no one else and no one else sounds like Prong. So now go buy it!.
