Setting the mood for a great night

Corinne Bailey Rae **** Set in the stunning setting of the Eden Project in Cornwall, The Eden Sessions are a series of performances by some of the world’s top music artists. Since 2002 there have been many World class artists to play the stage set between the two biomes which The Times called "The eighth wonder of the World".

It is only fitting that a true music super star Lionel Richie should open this years sessions for 2016. With over one hundred million album sales, four Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Oscar. Also their is no better way to warm up for the music giants very special set, than with British Singer / Songwriter and two time Grammy Award winner Corinne Bailey Rae. 

She opened the night with a spectacular rendition of ‘Been to the Moon’ from her album ‘The Heart speaks in Whisper’ released last month. Breath like piano notes fill the air reminiscent of a Sci-Fi film score as does the first minute before breaking into an easy R&B / Pop beat. Corinne was dressed similarly to the video to the afore mentioned track in a silver space age outfit.

A talented lady, Corinne soon picks up a guitar and plays her way through ‘Stop where you Are’. The set is short at only thirty minutes but what it may lack in length, it certainly makes up with the outstanding hit ‘Put Your Records On’. She is a great performer and she is rising ‘Like a Star’ to become one of the top British acts.
