Set it Off - Setting it off, and selling it out!!!

Set It Off **** is an American Rock band that started in Tampa Florida, and have since their creation have released four studio albums. Their latest album 'Midnight', was released after they signed with the ever popular Fearless Records. As we speak, band is performing more shows on their 'Midnight' World tour, which proved to be incredibly success with most shows on the tour being completly Sold Out!!! ages before they stopped at the venues.

One thing that I wasn't particulary impressed off, was the way of how venue handled opening times..fans were still slowly getting inside the venue even though first support act Bearings have aleady started their set.This was a shame as I think Bearings definitely deserved to have a full venue in front of them. Security did though keep an eye on the crowd and performers..especially after a miss of noticing a crowdsurfer fast approching the photopit area.

Luckly the Set It Off's frontman Cody Carson had seen the crowdsurfer approching,so he made the fast decision of jumping from the stage onto the barrier and catched the female crowdsurfer himself while still singing. No one was hurt, but please everyone keep in mind that crowdsurf is fun but can be also very dangerous for the one doing it as well as for the one catching...make sure security is aware and is fully paying attention before you decide to venture into a crowdsurf experience.

However Cody himself had an unintentional small miss towards a photographer from the photopit area, for which he kindly apologised using lyrics. Caught in the moment of intense performing, Cody threw the mic stand towards the photopit area... unaware of the the female photographer stood in front of him shooting.Fortunatly again, no one got hurt. As mentioned before, band had prepared a mix of old and new - heavy and soft songs to perform, including an awsome medley of a whooping ten songs.

Songs included in the medly were: 'Dream Catcher / No Disrespect / Ancient History / Bleak December / Admint It / Miss Mysterious / I'll sleep when I'm Dead / Swan Song / Forever stuck in our Youth' ...crowd went crazy for this... jumping and singing alongside the band all throughout this medley set.

Between songs Cody always took the time in thanking the fans for 'always supporting us' and 'for this incredible Sold Out!!! tour', Also Cody made sure to mention the on going mental health and depression matter, and asked everyone to take care of themselfs and to 'never give in' no matter of what happens in the present or future...giving himself as an example, as he just went through losing his father due to illness.

Cody stated that 'even though it is tough, he will always look forward' and asked everyone present to vent together and to let all their feelings out...statement that made quite a few front row fans to burst in tears and cheer as loud as they could. The band went on with their show, performing a couple of songs using his father's trumpet...moment that gave everyone warm goosebumps with crowd having their phone flashes held high up.

Set it Off's drummer Maxx Danziger also had prepared a surprise for their crowd, performing a drum medley of ten songs or more..lost count, to be honest...his medley included remixed hits such as: 'Toxic' by Britney Spears, 'Without Me' by Halsey and for everyone's surprise 'Baby Shark' by Pinkfong. I must say, his drum solo is really something worth searching on.

Once their set came to an end, crowd immediatly started to ask for the encore and band listened,coming back on stage performing two more songs. During the second encore song, frontman decides to do a slightly different style of crowdsurfing. Cody suddently starts crowdwalking... yes, literally walking until middle of the venue,on his way back doing the classic crowdsurf.

All in all Set It Off are a band that knows how to entertain their crowd and the night proved to be an eventfull one. For sure worth my four hour drive to see these guys, so I would catch them next time you have a chance... or when they hit your city.
