Chippenham Folk Festivals - Announce special event for their 50th Anniversay
There's some lovely Folk around here
Chippenham is a market town in Wiltshire that can trace it's origins back to King Alfred, this year it is celebrating a special moment in its history. OK not quite as old as the Saxons, but this is the 50th incarnation of it's Folk festival, during the gloriuos sunny (we have to stay hopeful) Bank Holiday weekend the town in transofrmed into a musical extravaganza. With musical sessions coming out of the pubs, Morris Dancers filling the streets and mutiple concert venues, there really is a packed programme of events.

The live music is of course centre stage this year the headliner performances are from acts including The Wilderness Yet, Cara Dillon and Le Vent du Nord. Other notable acts include Benji Kirkpatrick, Banter and plus what will be a fitting tribute I am sure, in The Paul Sartin tribute concert. A wide range or national and international acts are on dispay covering a range of styles.

If getting involved is more your thing, there are workshops and sessions for all level of performer. For the energetic there are a selections of Ceilidhs taking place in the Market Square, in the riverside lerisure centre and believe it or not, even one in the swimming pool. There's also a large faimily offering, so truly something for everyone.
