Vans Warped Tour

Yellowcard **** (Jagermeister Stage) also played yesterday on the East Stage stage so this is their second performance at the festival. Today though I manage to catch their set which apparently is the exact same songs as they played the day before, so you wonder why they needed to do it again. It is really good though and they play great songs like set opener 'Way Away' which has real life to it and has a sound that crosses over genres. In this song the band jump around in time to the music and really push the set into life in a spectacular way.

Yellowcard are one of the bands that have been smart at brought their own lighting with them on the Vans Warped tour, this means they always look good and have great yellow bright lights for their performance on a stage that has been red all day. 'Breathing' off the same album as the opener 'Ocean Avenue' is a song that is really Poppy but really crediable as a well written Punk song to, Yellowcard are a band that are not stupid at all they just do great Pop Punk music.

'Light up the Sky' has a good beat and sounds like they are going to break out into a Lostprophets song but then it changes and sounds like a Good Charlotte one, this is a great track and goes down really well today. They then break into 'Rough Landings, Holy Awakenings' off what is my favourite album by Yellowcard 'Lights and Sound' this song is unbelievably catch and one of the highlights of the bands set today and also see's them really moving round the stage making it their own.

This is a band that really knows what they want and the lights make them really stand out on the Jagermeister stage today and really enlightens us to a great performance that was well worth checking out, and when they end with 'Ocean Avenue' off the album of the same name you have thoroughly enjoyed them today. They are a band that really know their art and how to play their songs to make them sound like they do on the record.
