Dämmerung - Ukranian Black Metal

Dämmerung release a record to take notice of

Ukrainian Black Metal band Dämmerung has set November 27th as the international release date for its fourth full-length album, 'Son of the Mourning Star'. Work on the album began in 2020–2021. Vocals and instruments were recorded, and only the mix remained, when Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 forced all creative work to stop. In 2026, 'Son of the Mourning Star' was mixed and mastered by Johan Martin at Punch Sector Studios in Örebro, Sweden. The artwork was created by Nuno Zuki of Belial NekroArts, Portugal. The record, artwork, and layout for a three-panel digipak with an eight-page booklet are ready for production.

Founded in Kherson in autumn 2001 by vocalist Saurg and guitarist Kaschey, Dämmerung was among the first Black Metal bands in the city. Its debut album, 'Follow your own Shadow', was completed in 2003, making it the first Black Metal band from Kherson to release an album. Plans for live performances were abandoned after a religious sect burned down the band’s rehearsal space.
