Nashville Pussy - Up the Dosage

(CD Album Review)

***
Nashville's finest offer up another dose of kick-ass Rock 'n' Roll!

Having been Kicking round since the late nineties it's surprising Nashville Pussy didn't get bigger, especially when bands like Airbourne and the like kicked off but no harm has come to the band, they have a big cult following which in normal for a  Rock band that has been going for this long.

In America anyone who has seen them will tell you that you will have to go a long way to find a better live band and that is even when comparing them to some of the greats in their genre. For the uninitiated Nashville Pussy play kick ass Rock 'n' Roll and walk the line between Motorhead and AC/DC with the southern attitude of Lynard Skynard. It's women and whiskey all the way and it's pretty much business as usual on this album.

'Up the Dose' is a bit of a double sided coin it's got a real polished, crisp production from Rick Beato which is fine and a band of their caliber deserve to be working with a top producer but the album looses the rawness of the early albums such as the bands classic debut 'Let them eat Pussy'." It doesn't quite have that "live" feel. However it's still a fun album with plenty to enjoy if your a fan.

The song title's sum things up pretty nicely such as 'The south's too fat to rise Again' or 'Pussy ain't a dirty Word' and 'Pillbilly Blues' which is the albums heaviest track while 'Hooray for Cocaine, Hooray for Tennessee' is on a Banjo with pretty funny lyrics. It's one of those albums that just plays itself effortlessly and flies by ready for you to start it again.
